Advantages
The membrane outlet is AirSox world patented “problem solver”, when it comes to handling heating and cooling with a single system without causing a draught.
Basically the system presents you with the best of both worlds i.e cooling with the low impulse (permeable) principle and heating with the impulse from slot or nozzle diffusers.

Function
When cooling is required only the upper half of the duct is used. This is made as a standard permeable low impulse duct for classic displacement ventilation. In case of heating the air is directed through the lower half of the duct. Slots or nozzles give the desired impulse to the supply air for reaching the occupied zone.

Technique
We connect the duct to a 180° damper motor (supplied) which rotates an airtight membrane (sewn into the entire length of the duct) to either the upper or lower position.
The airtight membrane ensure that the airflow can only pass through either the upper half or lower half of the duct as required for cooling or heating. The supply air still benefits from the whole cross section of the duct so in duct velocity is maintained at normal speeds.
